I'm Juliette Allport and I've spent the past 17 years in the medical communications arena.
I graduated from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in 1998 with an MSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences and have since completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health.
During my studies, it became clear that my true aptitude lay in essays rather than in assays – writing about biochemical processes rather than re-creating them in a test tube! And so, I was fortunate to be able to hang up my lab coat and find my perfect vocation – telling stories about science and medicine.
I spent five years working for medical communications agencies in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, before establishing Syntax Scientific Writing in 2004.
As a freelance medical writer, my professional approach centers around understanding my clients’ needs, timelines and budgets. My clients like to work with me because I am able to see solutions from both a scientific and commercial perspective, I have a lot of experience over a wide range of project types, I get things done when I say that I will, and (most importantly) because I write well.
My writing studio is located in Auckland, New Zealand, so I truly understand the utility of the "Global Office" - if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, I work while you sleep!
